Convenor Update – SELF Contributes to Consultation Discussion on Embedding Shared Education
It is hard to believe that the first cohort of schools are coming to the end of their participation in the Shared Education Signature Programme (SESP). The Department of Education and Education Authority are currently making plans for supporting and promoting Shared Education as it becomes fully embedded into our system.
It is crucial that the voice of school leaders is heard and contributes effectively to the discussion taking place. To that end, SELF has formed a working group comprised of representatives from schools in all sectors and phases. Our objectives include:
- Capturing the views and opinions of school leaders and teachers
- Ensuring that that our expertise and experience is used to shape the future of Shared Education
I, along with two principals, representing nursery, primary and post primary will attend a crucial meeting of Stakeholders on Friday 27th April to contribute to some early stage discussion on how Shared Education will be supported beyond the specially funded programmes.
